Athletic Training Program Faculty
The faculty members and instructors in the Department of Health, Sport, & Exercise Sciences at the KU School of Education are dedicated to providing robust learning opportunities related to Athletic Training. You will learn from professionals who have real-world experiences working as certified athletic trainers in various sectors of the field.
Prior to their time at KU, our athletic training program faculty and instructors have also worked and taught at University of South Carolina and Georgia Southern University. Our Athletic Training program faculty also partner with professors from other departments at the University of Kansas to ensure that your student experience and learning at KU are both interdisciplinary in nature and grounded in practical experience.

Mike Calvin, MS, ATC, LAT is a Lecturer and Clinical Coordinator of the Athletic Training Program. Mr. Calvin started at the University of Kansas in 2017. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and a member of the Kansas Athletic Trainers' Society (KATS).

Dawn Emerson, Ph.D., ATC started at the University of Kansas in 2015.
