Health Education & Psychology of Physical Activity

Admission to Master's Degree at KU

The University of Kansas is a great place to pursue a graduate degree, since graduate education is central to KU’s mission of learning, scholarship and creative activity.  We invite you to explore our graduate degree information, review our student resources, and learn more on our knowledgeable faculty and the vibrant community of Lawrence, Kansas.

Admission committees, made up of faculty in the specialization areas, will review all completed applications. Due to limited spaces in the specialization areas, meeting minimum entrance requirements does not guarantee admission to the HSES graduate programs. If you are applying for the Master’s degree in Health Education & Psychology of Physical Activity (thesis track), we strongly encourage you to contact a faculty member within the HSES Department from your specialization area of interest for a required interview before completing the application process.

Once you’ve decided to apply, use the Apply Now button on this page to get started! Please note that KU does not accept paper applications for admission.  The online application is designed to give you the ability to submit all supporting documents in one form.  Not sure of how to proceed? We’ve created a Graduate Application Checklist, just for you!

Note: The GRE exam scores requirement for admission will be waived until Fall 2022.

If you are an international applicant, we strongly encouraged you to complete the application process well in advance of these deadlines, in order to ensure adequate time for processing of visa-related paperwork. The graduate admissions committee will make selections when all support documents have been received.
