Claire Schaeperkoetter is currently an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at Northern Illinois University. She has received two degrees from the University of Kansas – a PhD in Sport Management in May of 2017 and a M.S.E. in Sport Management in May of 2014. Dr. Schaeperkoetter’s research typically relies on the intersection of organizational behavior, organizational theory, and sport finance to analyze decisions of sport leaders, sport employees, and sport participants. She also has teaching experience in Sport Finance, Sport Marketing, Sport Communication, and Sport Ethics. She is the past co-president of the Amateur Sport Research Center and is currently on the Journal of Amateur Sport’s Editorial Board. Claire has had practical industry experience with the athletics department at the University of Kansas in compliance and in facilities and events, with the athletics compliance office at the University of Miami (FL), and with the ticket office with the NBA’s Miami Heat. A 2012 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Claire double-majored in Psychology and Spanish and was a member of the women’s basketball team, winning a national championship in 2010.
