Events set for KU Graduate Student Appreciation Week

Friday, March 30, 2018

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas will recognize the contributions of graduate students to the university during national Graduate Student Appreciation Week, April 2-6, and throughout the month of April.

Graduation Student Appreciation Week celebrates the contributions of graduate students to the mission of KU, raising awareness of their efforts in teaching, research and service to the campus.

On Tuesday, April 3, more than 100 graduate students will present research on a range of topics at the annual Graduate Research Competition in the Kansas Union. The campus community is invited to attend and share in an afternoon of poster and oral presentation sessions. Graduate students will compete for prizes conferred at the Graduate Awards Ceremony on April 12.

The Office of Graduate Studies will co-host the Community Table on Wednesday, April 4. The Community Table offers students, faculty and staff a space to meet others from across campus over lunch. All are welcome with a current KU ID.

More events will take place during Graduate Student Appreciation Week and the rest of April. A schedule of events is available on the Graduate Student Appreciation Week website.
