Biography

Drake A. Eserhaut is a PhD candidate at the University of Kansas within the Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory, as well as a nationally certified phlebotomist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Drake's primary research focus is on the endocrine responses to resistance exercise and sport, with specific interest in the physiological effects of blood flow restricted resistance exercise (BFR+RE) on strength and power athletes. Work is also being conducted to explore the utility of wearable near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technologies for performance monitoring during graded exercise testing in endurance athletes. Drake has given podium presentations on hormonal responses to both exercise and cognitive stressors, along with poster presentations on various sports science topics.
