Program Overview

The purpose of the M.S.E in Exercise Science at KU is to prepare individuals with the knowledge and skills they will need for careers in exercise and sport science-related fields. Students enrolled full-time in the M.S.E program typically complete the degree in two years. However, co-enrollment can reduce that by one semester, reducing the time and money required for an advanced degree. There is also flexibility to enroll part-time if desired.

Career Outcomes in Exercise Science

An M.S.E. in exercise science from KU is valuable in the competitive job market or as a pathway to pursuing a Ph.D. Students who aspire to pursue careers in exercise science are likely to accept positions with titles similar to the following, although some may require additional education or certification:

  • Strength & Conditioning Coach
  • Sports Performance Coach
  • Sport Scientist
  • Exercise Physiologist
  • Clinical Exercise Physiologist
