Bachelor of Applied Science in Exercise Science Program Curriculum & Admission Requirements
Program Curriculum
The curriculum for the bachelor of applied science degree in exercise science is built on the belief that it is critical for KU students to not only gain a broad-based exercise science education, but to supplement that education with hands-on practical experience in the field. This powerful combination allows our students to excel in any environment. The program curriculum includes general education requirements (see below), as well as a strong core of applied science courses in kinesiology, biomechanics, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, personal training, care and prevention of athletic injuries, and exercise physiology. Elective options come from a diverse mix of disciplines including courses like neuromuscular exercise physiology, exercise biochemistry, sociology of sport, medical terminology, applied sport and performance psychology, and sport communication.
